Meet Your Hosts At 5 Lakes Lodge Millinocket Maine

meet your hosts

Brian & Rachel

Brian and Rachel were both born and raised in Millinocket with their parents and grandparents still living in Millinocket as well.  Both have spent 20+ years working as professionals whilst enjoying all that the Katahdin Area have to offer.  They enjoy spending time outdoors with family, friends and especially Sargent (the couples solid black German Shepherd).  Brian spends his winters grooming snowmobile trails for the Jo Mary Rider’s Snowmobile Club. Brian and Rachel are eager to host their guests and share their passion for the local area.  It was important to keep 5 Lakes Lodge a business open to the public.  We look forward to offering new and exciting events.

Matt and Missey have been married for over 25 years, both born and raised in Millinocket, growing up feeling privileged to come from such a beautiful area.  They are looking forward to sharing the lodge and their community with anyone who comes to experience all the Katahdin Region has to offer. They have two children David (Amber) and Emily (Tyler) and a grandson Parker, there is a good chance you will meet them, as they are a tight knit group! They have lived on South Twin Lake since 2005 and are passionate about sharing the beauty of the five lakes region. They both enjoy spending time in the summer months on their pontoon boat with their family and friends. Matt, an experienced hunter, enjoys going out on hunting trips during the various hunting seasons. In the winter months, they both enjoy riding snowmobiles on the Jo Mary Riders trail system and being out on the ice, fishing.  Matt and Missey are excited to not only start this next chapter of their lives but to continue the legacy of hospitality at Five Lakes Lodge.

Matt & Missy

Bed was very comfy, lodge is stunning, breakfast was delicious and kinda fancy, and the new owners are wonderful and so eager to make our stay perfect. Our room had a small frig so we made our own sack lunches for hikes. Rachel, Brian, Missy and Matt are terrific hosts and are so attentive to all the details for their guests. All of them are locals who know the area well. The lake is lovely and great for swimming and paddling in the lodge’s kayaks and canoes. Fantastic view of Mt Katahdin. We watched loons, other ducks, and even an otter fishing just off the beach! In a word, idyllic. The lodge is a half hour farther than the closest lodging for Baxter Park but we will stay here again even if we have to get up 1/2 hour earlier to start our hike!
Sue from Maine
We traveled to Millinocket, ME as my husband was thru hiking the Appalachian trail from Georgia to Baxter State Park to finish yesterday. The 5 Lakes Lodge was the perfect place to stay and celebrate his accomplishment! Rachel, Brian, and Missy are the perfect hosts! The property is beautiful with a breathtaking view of Katahdin across the beautiful lake. So appropriate as the final 5 miles of the trail summit to the top of this mountain. The rooms are beautiful with every detail thought of. The great room and property are the best for relaxing and visiting with the hosts and other guests. The hosts are fun and very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was delicious. Our first time in Maine was perfect thanks to this experience. We will be back!

Gorgeous facility within an easy drive of Baxter State Park...or just stay here and enjoy the view. New owners are going out of their way to ensure your stay is unforgettable. Canoes and kayaks are available or bring your own boat and use the public boat ramp. Delicious home-made breakfast every morning!
